From July 2-7, Wu Bangguo, the member of Standing Committee of Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and chairman of Standing Committee of NPC, carried out investigation in Anhui Province. He went to Wuhu, Ma’anshan, Tongling, Anqing and Hefei, visiting the workshops of enterprises, research institutes, universities and colleges, and the rural areas, meeting the workers and peasants working under high temperature, listening to the views from grass roots, and discussing the policies to response the crisis and for sustainable development.
Wu Bangguo stressed that we should adhere to the guidance of scientific concept of development, and conscientiously implement the principles & policies and strategies & deployment of the central government; in the time of maintaining stable and rapid economic development, we should organically combine the responding to international financial crisis, the overcoming of current difficulties and the achievement of sustainable development, to speed up structural adjustment, promote industrial upgrading, develop low-carbon economy, promote energy saving and emission reduction, revitalize northern Anhui’s economy, and promote the regional coordinated development.
